Demek istediğim şey; okuyanların muhakkak her mecrada yazması, resmetmesi,…

How to get our work into galleries and stores?

> Do you have any suggestions on how to get our work into galleries> and stores?>> Amy> moderator There are dozens of different ways:1. For fine art, rent a space for a month, hang a show and inviteabsolutely everyone, then call the press. Gets lots of photos, collectany and all coverage in the press, then use that publicity to approachgalleries. 2. Hit lots of outdoor shows, hand out not only cards but statements ofyour artistic philosophy, etc. And, maybe, make a few sales on the side. Let’s face it, most…

The toilet plunger is Art

Spot was a upcoming famous Artist along with Andy Warhol. In art university You will find him under the category of artists over the edge. In art encyclopedias you will see one of his works was a urinal turned upside down and he signed it. This was at a very prestigious showing. Was it Art?  He suffers from lead poisoning from the many bronze pieces he did. I met him in NM driving around making cool patterns in patterns in the snow in a mall parking lot. He was one…

Toilet plunge as an artwork

Hi all, I hope you all had a nice holiday and nice celebration of this newyear. The poll`s question is really surprising to me. The question seemsto me more philosophical then business part of it. I mean, you testthe idea: “can this object, with this idea, be an object of art?”.The answers are upon you all. I am open to test your ideas here. Also I encourage you for this. But I am curious about this question why “toilet”? why not just abox or a briefcase? The postmodern times question… Just…

Art and Fine Craft dissimilarity

Hi Ed!Your thoughts identify some of the gray areas that make thisdiscussion never ending. I agree that a song is still art, no matter how many times itsplayed. Your Moby Dick example was also excellent. I could add tothat a ceramicist who makes the same vase, (without using a form ormold)…the design is the same but each piece is generallyconsidered art. In my own opinion, and in my experience the general opinion, is thatI can create a series of chairs, for example, that are similar. Eachone is “art”. However, if…

Artwork: unique or hundred replica?

Would like to repond to a point that you had made. “A “maker” whorepeats is same design over and over is not creating art either.” Absolutely correct, repetition is not creating but recreating art.Through your definition, your daughters drawings are art because theyare and interpretation of the world through her eyes. Is a visionany less of a vision because you did it twice? Maybe the artistry isin recreating the feeling of the original piece or maybe in producingthe piece. Maybe art isn’t held within the piece at all, maybe it…
