Toilet plunge as an artwork

Hi all,

I hope you all had a nice holiday and nice celebration of this new
year.

The poll`s question is really surprising to me. The question seems
to me more philosophical then business part of it. I mean, you test
the idea: “can this object, with this idea, be an object of art?”.
The answers are upon you all.

I am open to test your ideas here. Also I encourage you for this.
But I am curious about this question why “toilet”? why not just a
box or a briefcase? The postmodern times question…

Just to give you a bit strange ideas, and confuse you more, here are
some details of the games sociology ( do not confuse with John
Nash`s game theory): The wheel discovery was first as a toy for
children. Also the airplane and spacecraft`s discovery (especially
the gaz propulsion engine) was based on fireworks discovery in the
China. The fireworks was only used for fun during the festivals and
special days celebration. And mainly used by children. Also another
cultural discovery for fun and for celebration use; “the kite” is
the base of aeronautics.
Also if you go back in the history, in the stone age time, art was
used for designing letters and numbers, mathematicians was artists,
artists was mathematicians, Historians was artists (remember the
Lascaux cave at France, the first humans were telling their life on
the walls of their cave.). “Financial document” in the stone age
time was designed and drawed by artists(yes it exists, and you can
see them at the Anatolian civilization`s museum at Ankara/Turkey and
Louvre Museum/Paris France) Also Leonardo da Vinci, the precursor of
the modern surgery was an artist.
Also something interesting of the modern time. Just on the logo of a
Turkish University BILKENT, it was written, “Art and Technology”,
and not mentioning “science”… These make me think deeper. But the
result is clear, art is going onward, it is a research and discovery
(Thomas Edison was not a scientist, because he didn`t go to a
university)
Just one more anecdote before finishing. Isaac Asimov, and some
other science fiction story book writers, were hired as a
university`s teacher. None of them are graduated, nor have a
diploma. This was because of; the things writen in these books as
Fantasy, are now today`s subjects of research and discoveries…..
Strange world isn`t it?

So art is a cultural activity. It is including and it has created
the university discipline`s such as : architecture, engineering,
aeronautics, hydraulics, physics, mathematics, letters, economy,
finance, sociology.
Also it is the object and the base of toys, decoration, religious
celebration.

Today when you get into your car, just think that, 5000 years ago,
it was a toy designed by an artist..

So now coming back to the question of toilet. It was, whatever the
way it is lived and used, firstly in the Ephesus / Aegean side of
Turkey, made by Greek civilisation. At these times, people were
going to the lu all together, and there were no private rooms for
doing your needs. And today we try to hide it more and more behind
the doors and walls, with even sometime soundproof walls :)) . Maybe
the artist ( as an historian, as a scientist) is laughing about it.
It is maybe an artist`s sociology matter, and just they let people
think about it.

So we ( the artists) have something serious fulltime job to do, it
is the ART.
Art is for fun, and fun is a serious job, it makes you work, it
forces you to discover, it is a discipline that when you get in, you
accept a hardworking fulltime creation of the future.

This toilet thing was finally fructous, and it was really an art
job. Because first of all I had fun. And also it forced me to work
on our next discussion subject. Art and Science.
Just a hint for a start point; the cell phones we are using today,
are the electronic telecommunication object that I was watching in
the science fiction films in the 70`s. It`s base is art. And now
this art object is sold worldwide. So we still stick in the reality,
the business part of art.. I `m curious about your answers. I`ll try
to invite for this subject some scientists in this group. Also
please people. This is your group, you own it as much as I own it,
don`t hesitate to invite precious minded people in it. We will be
all glad to read their ideas.

Some other administration thing that I would like to share with you
all; I am actually the only moderator of this group, and it is
taking me a lot of my time, I want to share this job with those who
