Why art has a greater price: the value of handwork

There was a product prices study that I read quite a few times ago.
The study was made by a Chamber of Commerce.

So the prices of raw material , for example cotton is lets say 2$
per kg

Cotton treated so as it becomes ready to use, the price is 4$ per
ball of wool

The ball of wool becoming a pullover sold with the price of 16$ per
pullover

A branded pull over is sold to the price of 50 $

The lesson to take from this story is, the product that you do as the
artist, MUST BE more expensive then the price you pay for
the raw material or non treated material you buy!!! Because each step has a work in it.

And more then this you should try to become a brand, and at this
point your art becomes a valuable object.

My opinion is that you should never try to sell your objects cheap.
Because the works you do are not industrial kind of work, each of
them are different. And more than all it is handmade.

But what you should also do, is to invest more on the quality of
the artwork. I think that`s what the customer wants

I wish happy days to all
